THOMASTON — Mr. William Floyd Morgan , 83 of Thomaston, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services were held on Monday, February 25, at 11 a.m. in the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Donnie Morgan and Rev. Joey Smith officiated.

Mr. Morgan was born in Manchester, Meriwether County, Georgia to the late Willie Frank Morgan and the late Minnie Bell Thompson Morgan. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a lifelong basketball, football, baseball coach and was Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 20. He enjoyed working with youth of Upson County as he served on many committees for the Recreation Department. Mr. Morgan worked as a Supervisor for Martha Mills and was a member of Jeff Davis Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Irene Dickerson Morgan, of Thomaston, Ga.; son, William Franklin “Bill” Morgan of Thomaston, Ga.; daughter, Wanda Ruth (David) King of Port Orchard, Wash.; daughter, Julia Eve (Jody) Calloway, Metter, Ga.; son, Robert Levi “Bob” Morgan, of Thomaston, Ga.; siblings, Janice Morgan (Gene) Englett, Douglasville, Ga.; Walter Gene Morgan, Danielsville, Ga.; Billy Royce Morgan, Forsyth, Ga.; Joyce Morgan Tucker, Manchester, Ga.; Marie Morgan (Winston) Saucer, Manchester, Ga.; five grandchildren, Seth Morgan, of Thomaston, Ga.; Andrew King, of Port Orchard, Wash.; Rob Morgan, of Thomaston, Ga; Morgan and Lindsay Calloway, of Metter, Ga.; and 12 great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial donations may be made to Jeff Davis Baptist Church.
