Mr. Herman Renfroe, 91, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of 119 E St., Thomaston, died Thursday, October 10, 2012 at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, Earl Harlow Center in Jacksonville, Florida after a long fight with heart disease.

Funeral services for Mr. Renfroe will be held Saturday, October 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Pasley-Flecther Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronnie Barrow officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Mr. Renfroe was born and raised in Adrien, Ga. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific campaign, then moved to Thomaston after the war to raise his family. He worked for B.F. Goodrich in the spinning department until his retirement. Mr. Renfroe enjoyed driving for local car dealers. He was a member of Silvertown Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He later moved to Jacksonville, Fla. for his remaining years. He had a great love for fishing, camping, and traveling.

Survivors include his sons, Mr. Ronald and Vicki Renfroe of Cumming, Mr. Dennis and Amy Renfroe of Tavernier, Fla., Mr. Gary and Karen Renfroe of Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Oscar and Dale Blanton of Eatonton, Mr. Stanley and Libby Blanton of Conyers, 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be given to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 in honor of Herman Renfroe.
