Mrs. Carolyn J. Mayo, age 68, died January 31, 2013 at Sacred Journey Hospice in Griffin, Ga.

Mrs. Mayo was born on September 7, 1944 in Manchester, Ga., to the late Leroy and Lois Brown Jones. She was a member of Cove Baptist Church in Woodbury, Ga. Mrs. Mayo worked as a sewing machine operator.

Survivors include her daughters, Mrs. Gail Peppers of Thomaston, Ga., Mrs. Teresa (Ricky) Cogburn of Thomaston, Ga.; sons, Mr. Tracy Mayo ofThomaston, Ga., Mr. Jody Mayo of Thomaston, Ga.; brothers Mr. Freddie (Janice) Jones of Griffin, Ga., Mr. Jerome (Linda) Jones of Woodbury, Ga., Mr. Ricky (Rhonda) Jones of Manchester, Ga., sisters Mrs. Sue (Eddie) Pecheco of Thomaston, Ga., Mrs. Deborah (Stanley) Long of Thomaston, Ga.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Sunday February 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. from Cove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
