You’ve seen the Presidential and Vice Presidential debates on TV, and hopefully know who you are going to vote for. The Thomaston Times and WTGA Fun 101.1 FM want to give you the same chance to hear candidates in the three local races debate, and will hold a Live Candidates Debate for the Upson County Sheriff’s race, the Clerk of Superior Court’s race, and the Upson County Commission Chairman’s race on Monday evening, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m.

The debates will feature open and closing statements from each of the candidates, as well as a series of questions that both candidates in each race will have a chance to answer. The Thomaston Times and WTGA Fun 101.1 FM will have questions prepared and are also asking our readers and listeners to submit questions they would like the candidates to answer. Please bring your questions in writing to The Times’ office at 109 N. Center Street or send them by email to editorial1@thomastontimes.com no later than noon on Friday, Oct. 26. The questions will be reviewed for fairness and the ability of both candidates to answer, and may be used during the debates.

So mark your calendars and make plans to sit back on Monday, Oct., 29, from 6-8 p.m. and listen to Dan Kilgore and Jeffery Little in the Sheriff’s race, Teresa Harper and Russ Bridges in the Clerk of Superior Court’s race, and Maurice Raines and Rusty Blackston in the Commission Chairman’s race debate your questions just days before the Nov. 6 General Election.
