The Flint River Academy Lady Cats clinched the region title last week with a win over Central Fellowship, 12-0.
The Lady Cats scored one in the first inning with a solo homerun from Meghan Gregg of Hollonville. Then an 11-run rally in the third inning secured the win.
Gennifer Armistead of Williamson looked sharp on the mound. Armistead gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none, and struck out three.
Even though FRA had already locked in the Region Championship with the win against Central Fellowship, a 24-0 defeat of LaGrange last Thursday earned the Lady Cats the honor of being undefeated in the region.
The Lady Cats will host the first round of the State playoffs on Oct. 8. If the Lady Cats advancce, they also host round two on Oct. 11. If the Lady Cats get past the second round, they will advance to the Final Four on Oct. 13 in Dublin.
