An online article in the Fayette Daily News is announcing that Upson County Manager Kyle Hood has been named the new Town Manager of the City of Tyrone. The article, by Josh Akeman, stated that the Tyrone City Council made its decision after a year-long search for a new town manager, and that they hope to have Hood in office by October 1.
Hood has been the Upson County Manager for the last four years. He is on vacation this week and unavailable for comment. Upson County Commission Chairman Maurice Raines is also refraining from comment, but has scheduled a press conference for Monday afternoon at 1 p.m.
