Mrs. Katie Elizabeth “MeMe” Thompson, 66, of 418 4th Ave., Thomaston, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Thompson will be held Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 a. m., at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Barber and Rev. Joe Allen will officiate and burial will follow in South View Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born on September 22, 1945 in Alamo, GA. She was a retired bookkeeper for the Britt Oil Company and was most recently shop manager for Traditions of Thomaston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Melody (Ken) Gaskins of Thomaston and Michelle (Mark) Wilson of Marietta; a brother, Neal “Pete” (Carol) Baldwin of Griffin; her fiancé, Jerry Teems of Thomaston; a half-sister, Jean Ogden of Darien; and four grandchildren, Lauren Gaskins, Katelyn Gaskins, Zachary Wilson and Sophie Wilson. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Zoey Wilson.

I am truly sorry to hear about this families loss. Although death is a very sad thing we can still look forward to a day where we will live again on a peaceful earth(Psalms 37:10,11). Wouldn't it be wonderful to live forever on a paradise earth with righteous people??
