The Lady Knights are currently in the midst of a softball tournament at Callaway High School in Troup County. The Lady Knights are looking to improve on their record from a season ago, which saw them play in one of the toughest regions in the state against powerhouses like Whitewater, Starr’s Mill, and Northgate.
This season the Knights’ road to victory should be a little easier, with the best teams they see being Locust Grove and Woodland-Stockbridge. The Lady Knights should be in store for better results in 2012. Senior infielders Demeshia Russell and Chasity Holliman will lead the Lady Knights in 2012. Senior Becca McDaniel’s bat will be missed this season. She will be out for the entire season with a torn ACL.
The Knights’ opened their season last night at Lamar County, but the results of the game against the Lady Trojans were not available by press time. Look in Tuesday’s edition of The Times for recaps from Lady Knights softball action.
