MSgt (Ret.) John Earl Lee, USAF, age 83, of Lawrenceville, formerly of Macon, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012.
Funeral Services will be held 9:30 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2012 in the Chapel of Tim Stewart Funeral Home, Snellville, with Rev. John Hadley officiating. Graveside services will follow at 4 p.m., in the Glenhaven Memorial Gardens & Mausoleum, Macon, Rev. Bob Howard & Mike English officiating.
Mr. Lee was a dedicated husband & father; he was a former deacon of Porterfield Baptist Church in Macon and attended Anchor Baptist Church in Grayson. He was a 32 degree Mason & a Shriner. Mr. Lee retired at the 4444th Squadron Langley Air Force Base in 1968 after 21 years in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Korea & Vietnam & N.A.T.O Headquarters in Oslo, Norway. He also retired from Golden Flake Potato Chip Company. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Ruth Lewis Lee in 2002; 4 brothers, and 1 sister.
He is survived by sons & daughter-in-law: Rick Lee, Brunswick; Malcom & Cathy Lee, Lawrenceville; daughter: Laura Connelly, Lawrenceville; brother & sister-in-law: Charles & Sandra Lee, Hogansville; sisters & brothers-in-law: Annie Ruth & Bob Howard, McDonough; Brenda & Mike English, Thomaston; Helen Sanborn, Winter Park, FL; seven grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren.
