Early voting for election runoffs runs through Friday

Early voting for the August 21, 2012 General Primary Runoff and August 21, 2012 Special Election Runoff elections began on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 8:30am and will end on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 4:30pm. Voting will take place daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at The Office of the Board of Elections and Registrations at 305 S. Hightower Street.

On the ballot for the General Primary Runoff is the race for Probate Judge of Upson County, between challenger Marc Ellington and Incumbent Danielle McRae. In the General Primary on July 31, McRae took 40.95 percent of the votes, and Ellington took 40.16.

On the ballot for the Special Election Runoff is the race for District 3 County Commissioner, between Ralph Ellington (R) and Joel Pitts (D). In the Special Election on July 31, Ellington took 32.61 percent of the votes, and Pitts took 18.74 percent.
