Mrs. Aurelia Daniel Vickery, 64, of 2710 Hwy 19 North, Thomaston, died Thursday, July 5, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Vickery was a native of Thomaston, a daughter of the late Thomas Lester and Nannie Lou Gaultney Daniel. She was a 1966 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Vickery worked as a dental hygienist for Dr. Charles Mixon for many years and in 1985 began growing flowers in greenhouses behind her home. She was well known for the gerbera daisies that she grew, sold, or donated. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda K. Winkles.
Mrs. Vickery is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Vickery; two sons, Robbie (Hillary) Vickery of Barnesville and Maj. Daniel (Rhonda) Vickery of Scofield Barracks, HI; four sisters, Martha Ann (Ken) McCarty of Thomaston, Ophelia Titus of Marietta, Ellen (Warren) Barnett of Atlanta and Eleanor (Jim) Mauldin of Winder; and five grandchildren, Braden Vickery of Scofield Barracks, HI, R. J. Vickery of Barnesville, Mercerdees Pales and Karisa Pales, both of Tulsa, OK, and Blake Pales of Scofield Barracks, HI.
Memorial services for Mrs. Vickery were held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Thomaston with Dr. Ed Cliburn and Rev. Carey Pitts officiating.
