Officials of the Thomaston Police Department are investigating a residential burglary that occurred last week on Third Street.

According to Investigator Phillip Tobin, the burglary actually involved two separate incidents.

“There are two reports (at the same address) – they came there early in the day and kicked in the door, went and got back in the car and left,” he said. “They returned that evening and took a few things.”

Tobin said the items stolen were smaller in size, such as DVDs and a purse, but it was evident an unsuccessful attempt was made to steal some electronic items.

There were no injuries, as no one was present at either time the suspects were at the residence.

“They did go in and ransack the place, though,” he said.

Tobin said the case remains active and under investigation, and he is currently working some leads.

“I have an individual who was a witness,” he said. “There are a couple of vehicles that match the description, so I’m trying to narrow that down.”
