As part of the Adult Leadership Upson program with the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce, each class has to complete a group project keeping it in line with something that will benefit the community. This year the Class of 2012 decided to put up permanent signs for the Chitlin’ Hoedown in Yatesville to help promote the event to those travelling on Highway 74. Earlier this week the group placed two signs just before you reach the City of Yatesville on both ends of Highway 74. The signs were donated by To the Max Advertising and the wood for the casings was donated by Quad Graphics and built by group member Mike Bennett. The Potting Shed will be donating plants for beautification around the signs later in the year as well. Pictured is the Adult Leadership Upson class of 2012 (l-r) Mike Bennett, Debbie Gignilliat (Adult Leadership Vice Chair), Wynn Trice, Lisa Ellington, Ashley Biles, Jennifer Greathouse, Lindsey Matthews, Lori Smith (Chamber President) and Ryan Tucker. Not Pictured are group members Tony Chiri and Carmen Ellerbee.
