Mrs. Jean Matthews, 86, of 204 Firetower Rd., Thomaston, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at her home.

Mrs. Matthews was an Upson County native. She had worked in the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills, but later in life she became a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Hendricks Baptist Church and was also a

member of the Thurston Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Magruder A. Matthews.

Mrs. Matthews is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kathy Matthews of Thomaston, and a granddaughter, Katie Matthews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Matthews will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 11a.m. at Hendricks Baptist Church with Rev. Don Coogler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will have visitation from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday night at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home.
