Mr. Marcus Glenn Vanhouten, age 50, of Thomaston, GA, died July 8, 2012, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Vanhouten was born on March 13, 1962 in Thomaston, GA, to Jackie and the late Thomas Vanhouten. He was formerly employed with the Department of Transportation, where he worked as a law enforcement officer. Mr. Vanhouten was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his son, Mr. Brian Vermeer of Thomaston, GA; daughter, Mrs. Brooke Vermeer Rowe of SC; mother, Mrs. Jackie Vanhouten of Thomaston, GA; sister, Mrs. Wendy and George McWaters of Thomaston, GA; nieces, Leigh Ann McWaters of Thomaston, GA, Lindsay and Craig Hill of Thomaston, GA, Dell and Tara McWaters of Thomaston, GA; three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2012 from 6-8 p.m.
