A Butterfly batter takes a swing at the ball on the tee. For many of the players, this was their first time playing in an actual game.

A Dirt Diamond defender heads toward first base after scooping up a hit. While the players are taught to throw the ball, sometimes it was quicker to run and beat the runner to the bag.

A Red Sox coach helps a batter get lined up to take a pitch. In tee ball, each batter has a chance to hit three pitches. If they don’t get a hit, then the tee is set up and the ball placed on it for them to hit.

This little Yankee was running to first after hitting the ball when he suddenly decided he didn’t want to run anymore, and he sat down! One of the coaches came out and talked him into finishing his run to the base.

These three Cardinals came up just short in their attempt to catch a fly ball that landed in the middle of them.
