Mr. Magruder A. Matthews, age 88, of 204 Firetower Rd., Thomaston, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Upson Regional Medical Center.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Matthews were held Friday, April 13, 2012 at 11 a. m., in the Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Coogler officiating.
Mr. Matthews was a native of Upson County. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the U. S. Air Force. Prior to his retirement he was employed at the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills. He was a member of Hendricks Baptist Church.
Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean E. Matthews; his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Kathy Matthews, and his granddaughter, Katie Matthews, all of Thomaston.
Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
