To the editor:

Al Simmons recently wrote quoting former New York mayor Ed Koch about Sarah Palin and agreeing with Koch’s “She scares the hell out of me.”

Based on the hysterical reaction by the left and ultra liberal democrats everywhere, I believe they have plenty of company. They have even managed to get a mental disorder named after them: Palin Derangement Syndrome (PDS).

We need to sympathize with them. Look at what they have been through. A bruising primary that saw a titanic struggle that pitted the heir apparent, Hillary Clinton, the “Queen of Victimhood” against the “Wizard of Oz”, Barack Obama who will grant all our wishes. And when the smoke cleared someone had thrown a bucket of water on one melting her hopes and pulled back the curtain on the other revealing past, longtime relationships with a racist, hate-spewing pastor, and a leader and member of a domestic terrorist cell. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.

But, nonetheless, he limped across the finish line as nominee of the Democrat Party. Both having hurled enough race and sexist laced grenades to rip the party to shreds, and there was not a republican in sight to blame it on. Not that they will not try.

Disgusted at the treatment of their champion, the cost of the nasty exhibition with Hillary supporters has yet to be calculated. Considering the democrats themselves exposed the soft underbelly of their candidate, and considering the Iraq War by all appearances seems to be won. The issue Obama rode like a rented mule to the doors of the Whitehouse has evaporated, removing his only claim to fame. Now, after years of investing in defeat, only to see the US poised for victory, it must be a terrible blow for the democrat party and Obama.

As if that’s not enough, along comes McCain and selects Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate. Strong, independent, not a member of the “sisterhood of victimhood”, a woman of actual accomplishment, not beholding to her husband’s coattails or a political machine for her success, can wear a dress, doesn’t need a personal trainer, and by all accounts doesn’t even know what botox is.

So we can kind of understand all the fear and wailing and gnashing of teeth by Simmons, Koch, beta males in their underwear in basements across America, tapping out vile, pathetic, warped views on the blogoshpere, along with their comrades masquerading as news anchors and “has been” feminist from Whoopi Goldberg to Olive Oyl. We get it. It’s been tough for you but it will all be over soon, in more ways than one.

P.S. Recently the left thought they had uncovered the “smoking gun” that would put an end to Palin once and for all, when it was reported “Palin Eats Eskimos”. Then, fortunately, someone explained Eskimo Pies are an ice cream treat, not a pastry using the native inhabitants of Alaska as the main ingredient.
