Bank of Upson this week announced its commitment to invest in the Upson Regional Health Foundation.

Bank of Upson has pledged $10,000 to the foundation over the next four years. Doug Head, president of Bank of Upson, presented this week a first donation of $2,500 to Foundation Director Hoppy Hopkins.

"It is our privilege to support Upson Regional as a small gesture of our appreciation for the incredible impact it has on the lives of those we know and love," said Head. "More than a gesture, we’re committing to the Upson Regional Health Foundation to help our hospital and our community grow."

Foundation Director Hoppy Hopkins said the Foundation exists to promote the long-term viability of Upson Regional Medical Center.

“The best way we can do that right now is to help grow tomorrow’s workforce, including physicians, caregivers and support staff,” said Hopkins. “We appreciate the generosity and thoughtfulness of Bank of Upson and its commitment to invest in the health and well-being of our community.”

The Health Foundation is a 501-c-3 organization created to support the medical, charitable and educational needs of the communities served by Upson Regional. It officially began in 2006 with the receipt of a $2.16 million dollar gift from Community Enterprises, Inc.
