Funeral services for Mrs. Margie Helms Bowles, 84, of E Street, were held Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with the Rev. Terry Threadgill and the Rev. Bennie Coggins officiating. Burial followed in Southview Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowles died Thursday, June 19, 2008, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bowles was born in Upson County, Ga., She was retired from BFG Martha Mills after 40 years as a loom fixer. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Mr. Charles (Joyce) Harris of Cosby, Tenn., and Mr. Eugene (Judy) Williams and Mr. Johnny (Sandra) Bowles, both of Thomaston; daughters, Ms. Kathy Way and Mrs. Kim (Donald) Turner, both of Thomaston; a brother, Mr. Walter (Jeanevia) Helms of Thomaston; sisters, Mrs. Neil Reynolds and Mrs. Rose Parker, both of Thomaston; 17 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
