The Thomaston-Upson County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) was given an Equity Grant Award of $500,000 from Governor Sonny Purdue. The Equity Fund is designed to assist communities and regions in building the necessary infrastructure to support economic development. The grant money will go towards an estimated $11,106,913 Water and Rail Infrastructure. The project will be constructed off the rail spur on the Norfolk Southern rail line to the Central Georgia Business and Technology Park, to serve Innoware Plastics Inc.
