While the battle to clean up storm debris in some areas of Upson County continues, the Georgia Forestry Commission has taken notice.

According to Chief Ranger Randy Teal, the exception for the burning of storm debris has been extended until June 30th.

If you have storm debris that needs burning, you must obtain a burn permit from the local Forestry Unit in Thomaston.

To obtain a burn permit on the day you wish to burn, call the local Georgia Forestry number and obtain the permit by phone.

The number is 706-646-6011.
