In open Court Friday, May 9, Judge Paschal English presented Richard T. Bridges a certificate of accomplishment from the Bar of the State of Georgia for fifty years as a member. Richard Bridges was admitted to the Bar in 1958.

In presenting the certificate to Mr. Bridges, Judge English characterized Bridges as “a very good country lawyer who over the years would help anyone who came through his doors.”

As part of the presentation ceremony, Johnnie Caldwell, Sr. and Judge Johnnie Caldwell Jr. spoke of their association with Richard Bridges as law partners beginning in 1961 when Mr. Bridges came to Upson County to join Johnnie Caldwell Sr. in the practice of law. Judge Caldwell cited Mr. Bridges as his teacher and mentor as a young lawyer. He pointed out that Mr. Bridges was also mentor to other Upson County lawyers who now have their own practices.
