Funeral services for Mrs Mary Frances Bottoms Bowles, 90, of Old Talbotton Road, were held Monday, April 21, 2008, at 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Baker and Dr. Ed Cliburn officiating. Burial followed in Southview Cemetery.

Mrs. Bowles died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Riverside Nursing Center.

Born in the Hollonville Community of Pike County, Mrs. Bowles had lived in Upson County since 1937. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church for 70 years, serving at various times as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Union. A homemaker, Mrs. Bowles was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Bowles, Sr.

Mrs. Bowles is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. Gary (Charlotte) Baker of Maryville, Tenn.; and a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert C. (Judy) Bowles Jr., of Thomaston; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
