A late evening walk took a turn for the worse when 18-year-old Reva Nicole Gravil was hit and killed by a moving vehicle on Pickard Road Sunday evening.

The accident happened some time after 8 p.m. when a 22-year old female struck her. An investigation is still pending.

According to reports, no witnesses were on the scene at the time of the accident. Gravil was transported to Upson Regional Medical Center.

Gravil was a senior at Upson-Lee High School and was employed at The Kids Konnection Day Care in Zebulon.

Survivors include Gravil’s parents. Terry and Jackie Gravil; two brothers, Josh Gravil and Jimmy Williamson; two sisters, Regina Roberts and Brittanie Evans; grandmother Sarah Gross; and three god-children, Crystal McDaniel, Brittany McDaniel and Bethany Sprayberry.

Students at Upson-Lee High School have been moved by the loss of Gravil. On Monday morning, several students asked Ms. Angeli Haygood, LPN Upson-Lee High School, what they could do in remembrance of Gravil. Haygood suggested that the students unite together and collect money for a funeral spray.

According to Haygood, over 75 students have donated a total of $200. Students will sign a card and ribbon showing their sympathy for the Gravil family in their time of loss. The remainder of the funeral spray funds will be given to Gravil’s family. Students are hoping to show that Gravil was a beloved student and friend at Upson-Lee High School.
