Funeral services for Mr. James W. “J.W.” Waller, 81, of Delray Road, will be held Sunday, April 6, 2008, at 4 p.m., in the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel, with the Rev. Paul Tidwell officiating. Burial will followed in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.

Mr. Waller died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at the Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville.

A native of Upson County, Mr. Waller served for approximately 25 years as the assistant warden at the Upson County Correctional Institute. He was the warden for the Pike County Correctional Institute for 12 years.

Survivors include his daughters, Louise (Norton) Tidwell of Thomaston, and Jean Hamilton of Zebulon; sons, Elmo Boyt of Meansville, and Thomas Boyt of The Rock; 20 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
