Funeral services for Mr. Theron Hill, 95, of Jasper, formerly of Garden Terrace in Thomaston, will be held Thursday, March 20, 2008, at 11 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church Chapel, with the Rev. John Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.

Mr. Hill died Monday, March 17, 2008, at Mountain Health Care.

Mr. Hill was born on Oct. 20, 1912, in Taylor County, to the late Mr. Louis Napolean Hill and the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Woodall Hill. He had been a resident of Upson County since 1936. He was employed by the Thomaston Mill Bleachery Division for 39 years. Mr. Hill and his wife, Mrs. Lucile Parker Hill, were married on Aug. 16, 1933. Mrs. Hill died in 2007. Mr. Hill was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a former member of the administrative board and Builders Sunday School Class.

Survivors include his sons, Col. (Ret.) Theron Haines (Carolyn) Hill of Gainesville, and Mr. Lamar Parker (Betty) Hill of Woodstock; grandchildren, Mrs. Beth (Clay) Fears, Mr. Christopher (Vivian) Hill, Mr. Keith (Lisa) Hill and Mrs. Jeri (Michael) McGhee; and great-grandchildren, Gregory Hill, Parker Hill, Tyler Hill, Erin McGhee, Travis McGhee and Cassidy Hill.

Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
