The Thomaston-Upson Humane Society, in cooperation with the Upson County Animal Shelter, has an Internet blogsite under construction, but currently up and running. At Upson Pets we will be able to post photographs of more animals at the shelter, as well as include lost animals.
All county residents do not subscribe to the newspaper, listen to the local radio station, have access to local cable TV, or even have Internet access. Our aim is to enhance - not replace - all ongoing programs of the Humane Society and the shelter.
For example, a while back the shelter added a bulletin board where folks can go to the shelter and post pictures of lost pets. This site does not replace the bulletin board. But the owner can also email a photo, description, and all pertinent contact information to the Humane Society. If the owner does not have access to e-mail, he can request the shelter send us a copy of the notice posted on the shelter's board. And when your pet is found, don't forget to notify us (and the shelter) so we can post the happy news before deleting the information.
Nor does this replace visiting the shelter in person to look for your lost pet or to look for one to adopt.
We hope you will visit our site, bookmark it and check back often. We will keep the information as current as possible.
You can find us at www.upsonpets.com. Our new e-mail address is upsonpets@gmail.com.
