Attention all high school junior girls! If you are interested in participating in the Thomaston Upson Junior Miss 2009 program, please mark your calendar and plan to attend an informational/orientation meeting on Tuesday Nov. 27, at 6 p.m. The location of this meeting will be announced in next week's edition of The Thomaston Times.

food for fines

The Hightower Memorial Library and the Yatesville Public Library will be collecting canned goods in exchange for overdue fines. This program began Nov. 1 and will end Dec. 7, All of the canned goods donated will go to the food pantry at the House of Care. Patrons can bring in non-perishable canned foods. Patrons can also bring in dry boxed foods such as cereal, pasta, rice and Hamburger Helper. Each can or item brought to the library will pay for $1 in library overdue fines. All other fines and fees such as lost or damaged items and lost library cards must be paid for with cash or a check.
