Funeral services for Mr. Bobby Aaron Ruffin, 74, of Deer Chase, were held Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with Elders Norman Randall, David Cawthon and Ed Evans officiating. Burial followed in Crystal Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Ruffin died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at his residence.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Ruffin was a native of Upson County. He was born on Nov. 6, 1932, to the late Gene and Gladys Mullis Ruffin. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Mr. Ruffin was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he worked for over 33 years as a postal clerk. He was a member of Emmaus Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Ruffin was preceded in death by his grandson, Mr. Brandon Clay of Thomaston, and three brothers, Mr. Ewell Gene Ruffin, Mr. Ben Ruffin, and Mr. Johnny Ruffin.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jean B. Ruffin of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Ruffin (Ricky) Clay and Mrs. Gail Ruffin (Donald) Garner, both of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Carol (Ray) Gulledge of Thomaston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
