Visit downtown Thomaston on Thursday, September 20, and get a taste of what local businesses have to offer.
From 5-9 p.m., a variety of vendors and entertainment will be set up on the square for the Taste of Thomaston.
“The main reason for having the Taste of Thomaston is to show all of the local food items that we have. We do have a few people from out of town participating, but they are in the surrounding counties,” said Brandy Boyt. “We are trying to promote business downtown by bringing all of the vendors, and by bringing the public to the square.”
Vendors include: Westwood Christian Academy, Upson-Lee Middle School Student Council, Crumb Crazy, Big C's B.B.Q., Thomaston Hardware, Retired Citizens Club, New Hope Baptist Church, Rotary Club, Sertoma Club, 4-H Club, Thomaston Main Street, Flint River Technical College, Girl Scouts, Small World Day Care, Thomaston Milk Company, Betty Respress, Papa Johns, The Pool Room, English's Cafe and Mark Coker. There will be three jolly jumps that the kids will be able to jump in for free.
“Vendors can still sign up. We encourage them to as soon as possible due to spaces and electricity,” said Boyt. “They can come by the downtown manager's office and pick up an application or call at 706-647-8311 and give an address to be mailed an application.”
Boyt encourages everyone to come down to support all of the local businesses so Thomaston can keep growning, and to come support our local entertainers.
“If our town doesn't support our business who will?” said Boyt.
