Investigators with the Upson County Sheriffs Department arrested four people from Upson County in connection with a home invasion robbery that occurred early Monday, July 30.

According to authorities, less than $200 was taken from Yatesville couple Larry and Angel Bailey of Childs Avenue just after 2 a.m.

Reports say the intruders entered the home by cutting the screen on the back door and breaking the second door down.

During the invasion, homeowner Larry Bailey was struck in the head multiple times with what is believed to have been a hammer, leaving him with lacerations requiring medical attention at URMC.

Arrested were Loni Clarence Thompson, 24, of 861 Skelton Road, Jessica Renee George, 22, of 241 Bradshaw Road, Liana Triston Allen, 18, of 95 Manley Road, and a 13-year-old male.

All four were charged with aggravated robbery, burglary and aggravated assault. Bond has been set at $45,000 for each of the arrested individuals, and three remain in the Upson County jail at this time. The male juvenile was transported to Macon YDC.

“We are very pleased with these arrests,” said Major Dan Kilgore of the Upson County Sheriffs Department. “Good old fashioned police work led to the arrests.”

Major Kilgore says this case was of the utmost priority, and he gives credit to investigators who have worked diligently since the crime.

“Our investigators developed as much information as possible through interviews and evidence gathered at the scene. The defendants were masked at the time of the robbery, and this left them with quite a difficult case. I am very proud of this team. Their hard work in this case is a testament to dedication and persistence. Yatesville is a vital part of Upson County, and the safety of its residents is important to us.”
