Graveside services for Mr. Raymond Lewis Sewell, 76, of Highway 19 South, will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at 2 p.m., in Upson Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Don Coogler officiating.

Mr. Sewell died Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Carl Vinson VA Hospital.

Coggins Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sewell was born on May 14, 1931, in Stewart County, Ga., to the late Thomas and Annie Mae Sewell. He joined the Morning Star Lodge #27 F&AM in 1981, and served as the Master of this lodge in 1995. Mr. Sewell was also a Scottish Rite Shriner. He formerly owned Action Realty, where he worked as a broker. Mr. Sewel was preceded in death by his son, Mr. Thomas Brinley.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carel Sewell of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Pamela (Donald) Bussey of Thomaston, Mrs. Trish (Gerry) Ward of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Treena (Jay) Bryant of Coastesville, Ind.; special adopted daughter, Mrs. Martha Merrill of Thomaston; sons, Mr. Ray Sewell II of Thomaston and Mr. Randy Sewell of Oregon; step-son, Mr. Michael Tackett of Texas; sisters, Mrs. Ruth Poirier of Thomaston and Mrs. Lou (Cory) Burt of Barnesville; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
