Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia A. “Big Mama” Smith, 64, of Oxford, were held Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, with Pastor Darrell Payne and Brother Paul Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Green Meadow Memorial Gardens in Conyers.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers.
Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Christ Cornerstone Church and was retired from Sweetheart Plastics in Conyers. “Big Mama” enjoyed sewing, traveling, shopping, wind chimes and cooking, especially making Christmas candy. She was a collector of owls, and enjoyed feeding her birds. A friend to many, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Miriam Smith, and two brothers, David Marsh and Robbie Marsh.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Smith; sons Timothy David (Melissa) Smith of Covington, and Charles Steven Smith of Oxford; grandchildren, Amber Smith, Sabbrina Smith, Danny Smith, Allen Smith, Aryssa Smith and Allexis Smith; great- granddaughter, Kennedy Tweedell; sisters, Becky (Joel) Elliott and Teena (Mike) Chandler, all of Zebulon, and Laura Wilson of Thomaston; brother Thomas (Darnell) Marsh of Thomaston; and sister-in-law, Wanda Sue Marsh of Thomaston.
