Funeral services for Mr. John Ira Heath, 80, of Fallin Road, will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Valley Grove Baptist Church, with Dr. Edwin L. Cliburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Macon at 2:30 p.m.

Mr. Heath died Monday, Dec. 25, 2006.

Mr. Heath was a native of Macon, Ga., and had been a resident of Upson County for six years. He had served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Heath had retired from the heavy construction business. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Clifford Heath and Ruby McMullen Heath Gatliff; his wife, Geneva Mae Loggans Heath; a brother, Murray J. Heath; and two nephews, Ray Heath and Michael Heath.

Survivors include his son, John William “Bill” Heath of Ridge Crest, Calif.; sisters, Dorothy Bartlett of Macon, Agnes (Jessie) Daniels of Eatonton, Nell (Curtis) Rodes of St. Petersburg, Fla., Loretta Brewer of Haddock, and Janie Underwood of Theodore, Ala.; brothers, Robert (Fran) Heath of Sarasota, Fla., and James (Emmy) Gatliff of Ruyall, Wash.; a grandson, Bryant Allen Heath of Ridge Crest, Calif.; 30 nieces and nephews; and a faithful friend, Nettie Echols of Thomaston.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 30, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
