Funeral services for Mrs. Jewel Jones Wilson of Barnesville, were held Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the New Life Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Killingsworth officiating. Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at a local healthcare facility.

Williams Funeral Home of Barnesville was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wilson was a native of Lamar County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny Jones and the late Mrs. Rosa Lee Emmett Jones. Mrs. Wilson was a registered nurse having retired from Upson Regional Medical Center. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Newton Henry Wilson Jr., and her son, Mr. Newton “Bucky” Wilson III.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Robin Wilson Corley; a grandson, Dustin Gary Corley of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Walter Jones of Miami, Fla.; sisters-in-law, Amelia Buckley of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Mildred Brantley of Milner; nephews, Reggie Jones of Milner and Jason Jones of McDonough; and a niece, Rhonda Ard of Barnesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The New Life Baptist Church of Barnesville.
