Mrs. Jennie Child Powell, 86, of Chaney Street, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006.
Funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date by Bentley & Sons Funeral Home.
Survivors include her children, Charlie Will Powell, Lula Dennis, Willie Powell and Jeanette Gray, all of Thomaston, Vonnie Warren of Fort Valley, Walter (Lisa) Powell, Catherine Graddy, Irene (Calvin) Clark, Jesse James Powell and Dorothy Jean (Jesse) Carter, all of Atlanta; 25 grandchildren, two of whom she raised as her own, Eric Smith of Thomaston and Rita Powell of Maryland; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Alberta Short of Atlanta; a devoted niece, Denise (Anthony) Wiggins of Thomaston; a dear friend, Rhonda Traylor, of Thomaston; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her.
