Funeral services for Mr. John Emmett Earles, 88, of Sunnyside Road, will be held Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 11 a.m., in the PasleyFletcher Chapel, with the Rev. Dean Hemphill officiating. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Earles died Monday, April 17, 2006, at Thomaston Health & Rehab.

Mr. Earles was a native of Upson County. During the period leading up to World War II, he worked as a ship builder for the war industry. He became a welding instructor, teaching women to weld, since most of the men of that time were serving in the Armed Forces. After moving back to Thomaston, he worked in the Bleachery Division of Thomaston Mills as a welder.
Mr. Earles was a member of the Morning Star Lodge #27, Free & Accepted Masons. Masonic rites will be performed at the graveside. Mr. Earles was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jackie Earles.
Survivors include his daughter, Vickie (Ray) Simmons of Lizella; a son, John Rennie (Mary Anne) Earles of Talbotton; a sister, Annie Mae Armstrong of Thomaston; granddaughters, Martina Earles Moody of Talbotton and Kim (Ted) Jones of Griffin; and great-grandchildren, Sierra Earles of Talbotton and Ryan Jones and Macy Jones, both of Griffin.
Visitation will be held this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
