A memorial service for a young man struck by a vehicle on Feb. 10, will be held.
Todd Phillips, 14, of Thomaston, died from injuries sustained after he was hit by an automobile on Tom McKinley Road. The teen was life-flighted to Egleston after the accident.
“He was like a son to me,” said Lisa Edmondson. “He was always at the house. This has been very hard for my whole family. We just wanted to do something to remember Todd. If there is anyone from school or the community who wants to come to the service and express what Todd meant to them, they are more than welcome to attend. He is really going to be missed.”
Born in Leesburg, Fla., on May 29, 1991, Todd was a longtime resident of Davenport, Fla., where he attended Boone Middle School and The First Baptist Church. He moved to Thomaston in 2005 with his father and stepmother, Danny and Vera Phillips. He attended ULMS and Wilson Chapel Church.
“He had lots of friends and people who loved him very much,” said Edmondson. “He will be deeply missed.”
The service will be held Wednesday, March 1 at 6:30 p.m., at Wilson Chapel Church on Cobbtown Road. All family and friends are invited to attend. Mr. Phillips was laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery in Davenport, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 17.
