Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth Allen Denham, 70, of Bussey Road, were held Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home, with Dr. Dennis Ford officiating. Burial followed in the Century-Nelson Cemetery in Meansville.

Mrs. Denham died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Providence Nursing Care Center.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Denham was born in Pike County, Ga. She retired from Goody's Manufacturing after 34 years of service. She was very active in the local Relay for Life. Mrs. Denham was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Caleb Roy Wigggins and Jared Allen Denham.

Surivors include her son, Mr. Merrel Hoyle (Sheila) Denham of Thomaston; daughters, Mrs. Ruth Corraine Wiggins of Zebulon and Ms. Julie Ann Denham of Thomaston; sisters, Mrs. Merelyn Jones of The Rock and Mrs. Elizabeth (Frances) Ford of Waynesboro; and grandchildren, Merrel Travis Denham, Kaitlin Renee Denham, Alana Skye Wiggins and Trey Birdsong.
