A Molena man was found dead Monday after reportedly drowning in the Flint River.
James Lamar Butler, 50, was reported missing by his wife Sunday when he did not come back from swimming.
Campers in the area searched for Butler before calling authorities, according to reports.
A rescue squad was notified and responded to the scene.
The search was called off due to darkness late Sunday night by Department of Natural Resources Forester Gene Gore.
Searching resumed Monday morning. The man's body was found around 12:45 p.m., according to reports.
He was found three-quarters of a mile south of where he was last seen.
Those involved in the search were Upson County Sheriff Department, Thomaston Rescue, Thurston Volunteer Fire Department, Georgia Emergency Management Agency, Pike County Dive and Rescue, Lincoln Park Fire Department, Lamar County Fire Air/Light, Taylor County Sheriff and Deputy, Taylor County Rescue, Talbot County Sheriff's Department, Talbot County Rescue and Crawford County Rescue.
