Local residents are donating hair to an organization which makes hair pieces for needy children suffering from medical hair loss.
Fantastic Sams in Thomaston plans to donate 154 ponytails, which will make an estimated 26 wigs for children who are struggling with medical hair loss. Each wig which is custom made costs $3,500.00.
In order to raise money, they also sell bracelets for $1. Wilson said that so far in our region, 8,000 bracelets have been sold. For every customer that donated their hair Saturday, they received a free shampoo and styling.
