Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Richard Sewell Jr., 76, of Paige Lane, were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2005, at 11 a.m., from Silvertown Baptist Church, with Dr. Edwin L. Cliburn officiating. Burial followed in Upson Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Sewell died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, at his residence.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Sewell was born in Upson County, Oct. 6, 1928, to the late Thomas Richard and Annie Mae Ellington Sewell. He was a retired letter carrier and had served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Sewell was a member of the Morning Star Lodge 27, Scottish Rite, York Rite and was a Shriner of Al Shirih of Macon.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Beth Williams Sewell of Thomaston; two daughters, Mrs. Vicki (Sonny) Watkins of Thomaston and Mrs. Christi McDaniel of Oriental, N.C.; a son, Mr. Mark (Billie) Sewell of Dallas, Ga.; a brother, Mr. Raymond Sewell of Thomaston; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Poirier of Thomaston and Mrs. Lou (Cory) Burt of Barnesville; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
