Funeral services for Mrs. Marie Peacock Joiner, 85, of Hwy 19 North, were held Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Pasley-Fletcher Chapel, with the Rev. Drew Stephens officiating. Burial followed in the Yatesville Methodist Cemetery.

Mrs. Joiner died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Joiner was a native of Worth County, born Nov. 16, 1918, to the late William K.F. and Willie Belle Youngblood Peacock. She had been a resident of Upson County since 1935. Mrs. Joiner was employed by Thomaston Mills for 28 years. She was a charter member of Twin Oaks Baptist Church and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was a former resident of Taylor County.

Survivors include three sons, Mr. Wallace (Eloise) Joiner and Mr. Eugene (Jo Ann Hewett) Joiner, of Thomaston and Mr. Tommy (Pat) Joiner of Augusta; a sister, Mrs. Willie Maude Carter of Byron; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
