The Upson-Lee Lady Knights' softball team didn't end its season quite the way they had wanted, but it was good enough to earn them a spot in the region 3-AAAA tournament this week.

The Lady Knights defeated Griffin 3-2 last Tuesday but then dropped two straight subregion games, 3-0 to Stockbridge and 1-0 to Luella, to end the season on a two-game skid. The finish was good enough to give them the No. 4 seed from the north subregion behind Stockbridge, Luella and Henry Co.

The Lady Knights will kickoff the subregion tournament this Wednesday as they face the No. 1 seed from the south subregion and last year's AAAA state champion, Hardaway, at 4 p.m. at Columbus' South Commons complex.

Scores and stats from last week's games were not available at press time.
