Four men charged

Four Thomaston men have been charged with armed robbery after allegedly forcing their way into a local woman's apartment wearing masks and robbing her at gunpoint of $120.

Damien Lee Montgomery, 564 Little Deer Road; Lowell Dennis Jr., 405 Cherry Street and Taureen Harris, 201 Dallas Dr. were arrested and jailed on armed robbery charges. An arrest warrant was signed for a fourth man, but he had not been picked up as of press time today.

According to arrest warrants signed Wednesday in Upson Magistrate Court, Montgomery, brandishing a gun, forced their way into the residence of Quashauna Raines, 109 West County Road, Monday night between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

"Montgomery and three other black males in concert wearing masks entered Raines' house demanding money," according to the warrant. "Montgomery held a gun to the woman's head as the accomplices carried out their roles."

An investigator with the Thomaston Police Department said this morning the purported robbers were not strangers to the woman.

"The robbers were acquaintances of the woman," the investigator said. "They knew exactly where to go and what they were after."

Bond for the three who were jailed was set at $25,000 each. Harris, according to reports, was released on bond while Dennis and Montgomery remained in custody early today.
