Funeral services for Mr. Carlton Smith Brodnax, 73, of Garner Street, were held Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Coggins Funeral Home with Dr. Rex King and Pastor Bryan Thurmond officiating. Burial followed in Southview Cemetery.

Mr. Brodnax died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004 at Upson Regional Medical Center.

Coggins Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Brodnax was born in Marion County, Ga. to the late William T. and Mary Smith Brodnax. He retired from the United States Air Force where he served for over 20 years; serving his country in the Korean War and in Vietnam. He also retired from B.F. Goodrich where he worked for over 12 years in the Card Room. Mr. Brodnax was a member of the Thomaston Baptist Tabernacle.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Palmer Brodnax of Thomaston; a son, Mr. Joel Brodnax of Thomaston; a brother, Mr. Harold Brodnax of Thomaston; a sister, Mrs. Joann Hill of Thomaston; a grandson, Mr. Justin Brodnax of Southside, Ala.; and a granddaughter, Miss Ireland Aliese Stubbs of Thomaston.
