BB gun pointed at school bus

A victim reported that a black male pulled what looked like a bb gun on him while he was driving his bus route. The victim said he stopped the bus to let a child out when the male pulled the weapon on him and pulled the trigger. The gun was not loaded. The victim said the male pulled the trigger a second time while it was pointed at the school bus, but nothing came out of the bb gun.

A victim reported that a black male threatened her with a box cutter and chased her. The victim also stated the male cut her left arm. The incident took place on Triune Avenge. The victim had visible injuries. Warrants are pending in the case.

Battery

A victim reported that while he was working at a business on Short E St., a white male approached him and asked for his name. When the victim told him his name, the male hit him in the face, then ran from the business. The case is under investigation.

A victim stated that while she was walking on Triune Ave., a black male grabbed her by the arm and began pulling her behind a building. The victim resisted and the black male slapped her in the face. The incident was witnessed by several people.

Dog Shot

A dog was shot by a deputy with the Upson County Sheriff's Department who feared the dog was going to bite him. According to reports, two deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at a home on Indian Trail and could hear two people arguing inside the house. The deputies knocked on the front door, which was partially open. The door opened further and two large dogs ran from the back of the house toward the open door. One of the dogs ran directly at one of the deputies, barking. The deputy, fearing an attack, backed away, pulled his gun and fired, striking the dog in the face. This scene was witnessed by two neighbors across the street. The dog was transported to a local animal hospital for treatment. It is unknown if the dog died as a result of his wound.

Criminal Damage to Property

A victim reported that she heard glass breaking and looked out of the window of her apartment on Ave. F and saw four subjects fighting. The victim stated one of the subjects threw another onto the hood of her car, resulting in damage to the vehicle.

Thefts

A burglary was reported Sunday, April 27 at a convenience store on Jeff Davis Road. According to incident reports on file at the Upson County Sheriff's Office, a man who lives next door to the store reported he heard noises around 12:45 p.m., then saw two male subjects run from the area of the store and get into a dark colored mid-size car that had pulled into a nearby driveway. The witness called for help, and when deputies arrived on the scene, they found the glass front door of the store broken and several open cases on beer and alcoholic beverages, along with lottery tickets and some cash, in the parking lot and on the floor inside the store. Damages to the door were estimated at $600.

A beagle puppy was stolen from a residence on Huckaby Road April 25. The puppy was valued at $400.

A house on Old County Road was burglarized, resulting in over $2500 in damages. The front door of the home was broken, and the back door, bedroom door and door moldings were damaged. Holes were visible in the sheetrock that had been kicked in one room, and paper had been burned and left in the kitchen floor. Nothing was reported missing from the residence. Sheriff's deputies found a pair of hedge clippers in the living room of the home, which were apparantly used to gain entry.

A home on Logtown Road was burglarized when someone removed a window air conditioning unit and gained entry to the home. Several items were moved, but nothing was taken. The back door of the home was also damaged.

A victim reported that someone entered her home on E Street and removed a television valued at $120.

Rhonda Stinson, 31, Butler, Ga., was charged with reckless conduct and theft by shoplifting by Thomaston police after an April 7 incident where she fled from a local store without paying for items and struck a subject in the parking lot with her car.

Alex Goodin, 40, 88 Lanier Road, was charged with theft by taking after an April 1 incident where he stole a heater from 401 E. Lee St.

Lakeshia Traylor, 31, 109 W. County Road #11T, was charged with theft of services after she allegedly used someone else's name, social security number and date of birth to have services turned on in her apartment.

A victim reported that a subject took a fan out of the window of her home on Beverly Drive and also damaged the window screen. The fan was valued at $25.

A victim reported that someone removed a hanging basket valued at $15 from her home on Greenwood Drive.
