By the end of the month, the balcony seating at The Ritz Theatre will be open for adults age 21 and older.
"We have three seats left to fill and we have to install the carpet," explains Malcolm Neal, who with his wife Amy owns The Ritz. "We have worked on this project for over a year."
Sponsors purchased the seats to help with the renovation. Sponsors have first option to sit in the seats with a 24-hour notice to the theatre.
Some of the box seating has counter tables and the upstairs area has its own concession, restrooms and lounge.
"When someone sits in the balcony, they don't have to walk down stairs until they are ready to leave," said Neal. "We eventually plan to apply for a beer and wine license, but it will be after the opening."
