Reception for Judge Miller offers opportunity for public to view Upson County

Upson County Commissioners are hosting a retirement social for retiring Superior Court Judge Ben Miller - and inviting the public to view the renovations of the Upson County Courthouse.

The event for Judge Miller will be held in the courthouse Thursday, Dec. 19 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Beginning at 11:30, tours and information regarding the courthouse renovation will be held.

Judge Miller announced his retirement from his superior court seat in the fall. He will move to senior judge status and continue to serve the judicial circuit in that role.

Earlier this month, Gov. Roy Barnes appointed Thomaston attorney Tommy Hankinson to Miller's unexpired term. Hankinson will take the oath of service at an Atlanta event Wednesday.
